Emerson (NYSE: EMR) has acquired consulting firm Management Resources Group Inc.

The target, headquartered in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, provides asset-reliability consulting services to process plant owners and operators. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Emerson will add the company to Emerson Process Management, an asset management division. The acquisition should help the unit provide services to customers that are looking to improve safety and reduce maintenance costs.

Emerson, based in St. Louis, Missouri, provides technology and engineering services that aim to help companies automate production, processing and distribution activities. The acquisition comes one day after Bel Fuse Inc. (Nasdaq: BELFA, BELFB) announced it would pay $98 million for Emerson Power Connectivity Solutions, a business unit of Emerson.
