Dropbox has purchased email application Mailbox.

San Francisco-based Mailbox is a mobile application that allows users to organize their email inboxes. The application was released in February. It hopes to grow under Dropbox.

Dropbox, headquartered in San Francisco, is a cloud-based sharing service that allows users to save a file and retrieve it from a different device. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mailbox has gotten $5.3 million in venture capital funding, led by Charles River Ventures. Dropbox has recieved $257 in venture capital funding from Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners and others.
