Defy Media is buying Addicting Games, GameTrailers and Shockwave from Viacom (Nasdaq: VIA, VIAB).

Addicting Games is a free online gaming website; GameTrailers provides game reviews and previews for video games; and Shockwave offers online games.

Defy was formed in 2013 from the merger of video networks Alloy Digital and Break Media. The company already owns media brands Break, Smosh, Aweme, Clevver, the Gloss, Made Man and Screen Junkies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the deal, Viacom will receive a minority interest in Defy, which should allow it to extend its brand name in the 13- to 34-year old male demographic. Defy’s other investors include ZelnickMedia, Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) and ABS Capital.

Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP represented Viacom on the deal.
