Corporation Services Co. bought Melbourne IT’s (ASX: MLB) digital brand services division for $156 million.
The division provides online brand consulting services to companies. It was created in 2008 when Melbourne IT bought Verisign DBMS for $50 million and combined it with its corporate brand services division.
Melbourne IT provides companies with services to build an online presence, and manages domain names, web hosting and online brand promotion services.
Corporation Service, headquartered in Wilmington, Del., provides business, legal and financial services to law firms, financial institutions and other companies.
Lazard and King & Wood Mallesons advised Melbourne IT on the deal. Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP advised Corporation Service on the deal.
