Inventus Solutions Inc. has acquired London-based software developer Kooby LLP.

Kooby provides project management services for e-discovery through a service called Advanced Management Platform. Terms of the purchase weren't disclosed.

For Inventus, which has been backed by private equity firm Clearlake Capital Partners LP since 2013, the deal adds software development capabilities. The Chicago-based company provides discovery management services, including litigation support, to law firms, corporate legal departments and government agencies.

This is the company's second recent e-discovery acquisition in London. In March, Inventus bought discovery-assistance business Unified OS Ltd., which also provides services to law firms and government agencies.

Clearlake, headquartered in Santa Monica, California, bought two information technology services companies, Sunturn Partners and Mountain States Networking, in May. A Clearlake portfolio company, Sage Automotive Interiors, acquired Miko Srl in April.

Epiq Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: EPIQ) also made an e-discovery deal recently, picking up Iris Data Services for $134 million in April.
