C Spire is buying MegaGate Broadband for an undisclosed amount.

MegaGate, headquartered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, provides voice, data and business telecommunications services in Mississippi.

The deal is part of C Spire’s plan to diversify telecommunications and technology services. In February, the company bought Mobile, Alabama-based Callis Communications, which provides cloud-based communications services for businesses.

Ridgeland, Mississippi-based C Spire is a telecommunications and technology-services company that provides wireless communications, high-speed Internet and other products and services to consumers and businesses. The deal for MegaGate requires regulatory approval.

Other recent telecommunications deals include Court Square Capital Partners’ purchase of a majority stake in Conterra Ultra Broadband Holdings Inc., and RigNet Inc.’s (NYSE: RNET) deal for Inmarsat plc’s energy broadband business.
