Belden Inc. (NYSE: BDC) is offering $220 million to purchase Grass Valley.

Grass Valley, headquartered in San Francisco, is a technology company that provides production switchers, cameras, servers and editing services for broadcast customers.

St. Louis-based Belden provides signal transmission services to the industrial, enterprise and broadcast markets. Belkin will combine Grass Valley with its company, Miranda Technologies, a provider of hardware and software services for the television broadcast, cable and satellite industries.

Belden bought Miranda in June 2012.  In December 2012, the company bought PPC, which provides broadband-connectivity services.
