BCE Inc. (TSE: BCE), Rogers Communications Inc. (NYSE: RCI) and Telus Corp. (TSE: T) -- the country’s three largest phone businesses -- are among the companies who have signaled their intention to bid for spectrum in an auction scheduled by the Canadian government next year, according to a list posted on Industry Canada’s website.

Several other companies have also applied to participate in the auction.

They include: BH Wave Acquisition Corp., Bragg Communications Inc., Feenix Wireless Inc., Globalive Wireless Management Corp., MTS Inc., Novus Wireless Inc., Saskatchewan Telecommunications, TBayTel, the Catalyst Capital Group Inc., Vecima Networks Inc., and Videtron.
