Battery Ventures is buying Lansmont Corp. and Team Corp. for an undisclosed amouunt.

Lansmont, headquartered in Monterey, California, makes products that measure real-world dynamics, like atmospheric pressure and other environmental factors, and simulate them in laboratory environments. Team, a Lansmont subsidiary, provides high-performance test and measurement for noise and vibration.

Battery Ventures, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based investment firm, already owns San Jose, California-based Data Physics, which Data Physics designs and manufactures test and measurement equipment and software for acoustic testing, machinery diagnostics, shock and drop testing, structural vibration testing and shaker testing.

Chicago lender Monroe Capital LLC increased Data Physics' credit facility to support the deal.

Other companies have also picked up various calibration businesses. In January, AccuWeather bought WeatherBank, which provides meteorology services including instrumentation and calibration. Trescal, which has made several measurement acquisitions, picked up General Calibration in January.
