B/E Aerospace (Nasdaq: BEAV) is buying Blue Dot Energy Services LLC for $75 million.
Blue Dot, based in Bridgeport, W.Va., provides rental equipment and on-site services to the oil and gas industry.
The deal marks an entry for B/E, a maker of aircraft cabin interior products, into the oil and gas industry. Blue Dot Energy will be folded into B/E’s consumables management segment.
The company, headquartered in Wellington, Fla., manufactures cabin products as well as aerospace fasteners. Products include cabin seating, lighting systems, oxygen systems, food and beverage preparation and storage equipment and modular bathrooms.
Deals have been steady for companies in the oil and gas services sector. On Aug. 13, USA Compression paid $187 million to buy assets from S&R Compression LLC that serve the oil and gas industry. On Aug. 2, Actuant Corp. (NYSE: ATU) paid about $225 million for Viking SeaTech, which provides equipment and services to the offshore oil drilling industry.
