Atlas Resource Partners LP (NYSE: ARP) is buying natural gas reserves for $107 million.

The Philadelphia energy company is buying the assets, which are located in Virginia and West Virginia, from GeoMet Inc.

Atlas owns an interest in more than 13,000 producing natural gas and oil wells, primarily located in Appalachia, the Barnett Shale, the Raton Basin and Black Warrior Basin. The company bought oil and gas assets in New Mexico, Alabama and Texas in June. 

Other recent energy deals include New Source Energy Partners LP's (NYSE: NSLP) February purchase of oil producing wellsin Oklahoma, and Liberty Resources II LLC's purchase of oil and gas assets in North Dakota for $455 million in January.
