American CareSource Holdings (Nasdaq: ANCI) has entered the urgent care market through the purchase of CorrectMed LLC of Atlanta.

The deal includes both of CorrectMed's urgent care centers in Georgia—one in Decatur and the other in Locust Grove.

Terms were not disclosed.

Prior to the acquisition, American CareSource had a network of more than 4,800 ancillary service providers at roughly 33,000 locations, which include laboratories, dialysis centers, diagnostic imaging centers, infusion centers, long-term acute care centers, home health services and non-hospital surgery centers.  Now, the company counts urgent and primary health care services among its offerings.

The transaction follows U.S. HealthWorks' November purchase of the Urgent Medical Carecenter, located in Pompano Beach, Florida. In March 2013, American Family Care bought Doctors Express, which operates a franchise of urgent care centers.
