Mergers & Acquisitions names the 2022 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A, including ALTI Financial’s Sheryl Schwartz.

How are you a champion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)?

Our current leadership team is composed of two women and an Asian male and we intend to significantly add to the team with a focus on DEI.

In my role as an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Gabelli, I am helping cultivate the next generation of leaders and investors in private equity including women and minorities. I am teaching the students through Harvard case studies of private equity deals on the importance of ESG and DEI.

In my role on the board of the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity (WAVE), we are providing learning and networking opportunities for women in private equity.

In addition, through the career forum at WAVE, we are helping to encourage and attract women to the field.

The ALTI mission has been to expand individual access to institutional private equity. The democratization of alternatives can help to improve the wealth gap stemming from the lack of diversity and inclusion.

How are you advancing the state of women?

I am a female and have an owner stake. Given that only 3 percent of venture capital investments are channeled into women-owned businesses, we were able to enter into an agreement to raise both a convertible note round and raise a strategic investment.

In my role as an Adjunct Professor, I was able to attract a significant number of students to apply for the career forum at WAVE. In my role on the board of WAVE, our goal is to help women succeed in private equity and venture capital careers.
