Private equity firm Advent International is buying 50 percent of Alianza Fiduciaria SA as part of a newly formed strategic alliance with Organizacion Delima, which owns Alianza.
Alianza is an asset management company based in Bogota, Colombia. The company manages about $9 billion in assets. Organizacion Delima’s president, Ernesto de Lima, says Advent’s investment will strengthen Alianza’s presence in the Colombian market. Terms were not disclosed.
Organizacion Delima is a Colombian investment group. The group has previously partnered with Marsh to create insurance company Delima Marsh SA.
Boston-based Advent has raised more than $37 billion since it was founded in 1984. The firm, a pioneer in cross-border investing, has offices in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
