3D Systems Corp. (NYSE: DDD) is buying 3D software group Cimatron Ltd. for $97 million, following several recent 3D printing announcements.

Cimatron, headquartered in Givat Shmuel, Israel, provides 3D software products and services for manufacturing production molds, tools and dies.

Rock Hill, South Carolina-based 3D Systems provides 3D design-to-manufacturing services, including 3D printers, print materials and cloud-sourced custom parts.

Needham & Co. is 3D Systems' financial adviser, while Hunton & Williams LLP and Gornitzky & Co. are providing legal advice. Prometheus Financial Advisory is Cimatron's financial adviser, while Meitar Liquornik Geva Leshem Tal is legal counsel.

There have been several other 3D printing transactions recently. Earlier in November, private equity firm the Riverside Co. bought Fisher/Unitech, a reseller of 3D solid modeling design software, hardware and related services. Before that, MakerBot acquired 3D printing software company Layer By Layer
