T-Base Communications, a portfolio company of Thompson Street Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in St. Louis, has acquired CommonLook.

CommonLook is a provider of software and services enabling electronic document accessibility.

“We are incredibly excited for this combination,” commented CommonLook CEO Monir ElRayes. “T-Base’s strategy for the accessibility market, their strong financial backing by TSCP, and their renowned accessibility expertise make them the ideal partner for CommonLook. Most importantly, this endeavor will greatly benefit our customers—enabling us to further strengthen our relationships through a wide range of additional offerings.”

“Our PDF standards-compliance expertise allows CommonLook to deliver sophisticated and ground-breaking developments in remediation automation that can be integrated into complex workflows. Our capacity to expand accessibility technology has been taken to another level because of this powerful alliance with T-Base,” added Ferass ElRayes, CTO at CommonLook.

“CommonLook’s advanced technology platform and strong customer relationships in key markets make it an excellent fit with T-Base’s long-term strategy. The addition of CommonLook will broaden our range of innovative product offerings and expand our geographic and industry reach,” said Ariel Kunar, CEO of T-Base.

“The combination of T-Base with CommonLook delivers immediate benefits to the customers of both companies,” said Craig Albrecht, managing director at TSCP. “These customers now have access to a comprehensive suite of document and web accessibility technology and services that ensure not merely compliance, but a better experience for low-vision and blind individuals.”
