Symplicity Corp., a provider of student employability and engagement services and portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital, has acquired Orbis Communications.

Orbis is an experiential learning service for post-secondary institutions in Canada. Orbis delivers its services to over 100 institutions, 350,000 employers and 1 million students. The firm connects institutions, companies and candidates and facilitates management of experiential learning programs.

The deal allows Symplicity to expand its market share of universities and operations in Canada and offer an expansive employer network to universities. Additionally, the firm’s network of early talent candidates and active employers will be significantly expanded.

“By joining Symplicity, we are aligning with an organization that shares our values and our goals,” said Cameron Ballantyne, founding partner at Orbis. “We look forward to continuing to provide the solutions that bind industry, post-secondary institutions, government and students in a way that meets them where they are today with what they need for tomorrow.”
