RetailNext, an analytics service for brick-and-mortar retailers, has acquired Retail Performance, a U.K.-based people-counting and football service from Ipsos, a market research company.

Retail Performance tracks over 1 billion customer visits per year across more than 4,500 retail locations in 50 countries. The deal works to position RetailNext for growth within the U.K. and European retail intelligence space. As part of the acquisition, RetailNext will open new offices in the U.K. and the Philippines and add approximately 40 employees. Isos also will become a minority shareholder in RetailNext.
