Orion Resource Partners, a global private equity firm focusing on institutional metals investment strategies, has closed its Orion Mine Finance Fund III. The Fund with co-investments raised a total of $2.3 billion.

Orion Resource Partners is a $8.9 billion alternative investment management firm that delivers turnkey financial services to metals companies. Fund III has invested or committed around 60% to late-stage investments in metals like copper, nickel, aluminum, zinc and other key raw materials. The firm is focusing on investments in materials required for the energy transition towards a clean economy.

“75% of the world’s GDP have announced plans to decarbonize within 30 years. Meeting this commitment is impossible without metals,” said Oskar Lewnowski, chief investment officer of Orion.
