O’Melveny has announced that Julia Schiller, former counsel to the Assistant Attorney General of the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, has rejoined the firm as a partner in the antitrust and competition Practice, based in Washington, DC. Schiller has experience in merger reviews, antitrust litigation, and antitrust investigations, in both private practice and the federal government.

“Julia is an esteemed alumna and we are delighted to welcome her home,” said O’Melveny chair Bradley J. Butwin. “O’Melveny has a long history of encouraging government service because we believe it is good for our firm and our clients. That is especially true in Julia’s case, and we know from experience that she embodies O’Melveny’s core values of excellence, leadership, and citizenship.”

“It’s a privilege to have Julia back on our team,” said Ian Simmons, co-chair of O’Melveny’s antitrust and competition practice. “Julia brings deep experience in merger enforcement and a unique perspective on DOJ’s interests and priorities. Her time in the Front Office will prove invaluable to our clients. Julia’s great qualities are particularly timely and relevant as the country and its enforcers are likely to embark on a period of heightened antitrust discourse and scrutiny.”
