Flip Electronics, a distributor of electronic parts to customers across the U.S. and internationally and backed by O2 Investment Partners, has purchased Resurgent Semiconductor.

Resurgent Semiconductor, founded by Duker Dapper in 2015 in Scotts Valley, Calif., is a provider of manufacturing for previously obsolete or end-of-life semiconductor parts. The deal looks to improve Flip’s services portfolio to drive the company’s mission of “making obsolescence obsolete.”

“This is a significant milestone in our history and growth plans. Component obsolescence is one of the major challenges facing manufacturers of legacy equipment,” says Bill Bradford, president of Flip Electronics. “The addition of Resurgent’s extended manufacturing services vastly expands Flip’s offering of end-of-life solutions, allowing us to support customers well beyond their last-time buy dates.”
