Mesirow, an independent employee-owned financial services firm, has appointed Natalie Brown as CEO of the firm.

As a result of the appointment, Brown becomes the 6th CEO of the firm and the first woman to serve in the role throughout Mesirow’s 85-year history. Brown previously joined the firm in 2018 and has held roles as president, chief financial officer, and chief administrative officer. Going forward, Brown will work alongside the previous CEO Richard Price to establish the firm’s vision, invest in existing business and search for new funding ventures.

“I am excited to assume this new role and build on the firm’s many decades of exceptional leadership,” added Brown. “Mesirow has successfully navigated market cycles over time by adhering to a traditionally disciplined and conservative approach. I am confident that this approach, combined with our differentiated capabilities; our community-minded culture; and our inclusive workplace will continue to set Mesirow apart as we serve our clients’ needs and our people as an employer of choice.”
