Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc., an independent investment bank, has named Spencer Cavalier as president of Matrix, and James Munsey as chief operating officer.
Cavalier also serves as co-head of Matrix’s downstream energy and convenience retail investment banking group. He joined the firm in 1998 and has served as a member of the board of directors for more than 10 years.
“Spencer has made a tremendous impact at Matrix on many levels and is uniquely qualified to lead the company as it continues to grow and prosper,” says outgoing Matrix president Thomas Kelso.
Munsey will be responsible for the day-to-day operational policies and procedures of the firm including strategic planning and implementation, human resources management, information technology and legal oversight, as well as office services administration in his new role. Prior to joining Matrix, Munsey served as COO of Connected Solutions Group LLC where he led the scaling of the company’s operations, human resources and finance.
