Ecotone Inc., a provider of ecological restoration services and a portfolio company of L2 Capital, has purchased Wilkinson Ecological Design, a provider of shoreline restoration and invasive species management services in New England.
This marks the first strategic acquisition by Ecotone, working to increase the company’s geographic footprint and along with the company’s presence restoration services category. The combined company will offer design and build stream, wetland, invasive species management and shoreline-based restoration. Ecotone also aims to build upon the investments WED has made in shoreline restoration techniques. Ecotone has also hired Conor Gillespie as their new chief executive officer. Gillespie is a former manager at Resource Environmental Solutions and founder of Catalyst Companies, bringing environmental restoration services experience to Ecotone.
