Kohlberg & Co., a private equity firm headquartered in Mount Kisco, N.Y., has acquired a 50 percent stake in United States Infrastructure Corp., a portfolio company of Partners Group.

USIC is a provider of outsourced “utility locate” services, including locating, identifying and marking sub-surface utility infrastructures such as pipes, cables and fiber. Kohlberg was joined in this investment by a group of new partners that include funds managed by Neuberger Berman. Partners Group will retain a 50 percent co-lead interest. Harris Williams advised USIC in this transaction.

“The company’s proven track record of growth coupled with its resiliency through market cycles were key differentiators for investors seeking platforms of scale,” states Matt White, a managing director at Harris Williams. “These factors, along with management’s vision to create a tech-focused, employee-centric business model, led to tremendous excitement across the investment community.”
