Kirkland & Ellis LLP has hired Michael Masri to the firm as a partner in the tax and infrastructure practice groups. Masri will be based in the firm’s New York office.

“Mike is a terrific tax lawyer, with comprehensive experience that will benefit our strong and in-demand infrastructure and renewables practices in particular,” said Jon A. Ballis, chairman of Kirkland’s executive committee. “We are glad to have him on the team.”

Masri focuses his practice on tax, renewables and infrastructure. He regularly advises his clients on energy tax credits, government incentive programs, project developments and financings, mergers and acquisitions, and all forms of leasing transactions. He represents investors and developers in tax equity financings across the renewable energy sector.

“Mike has a market leading practice in tax and renewables that will fit perfectly with our growing energy and infrastructure finance practice,” said Rohit Chaudhry, a partner in Kirkland’s debt finance practice in Washington, D.C. “Mike joins a practice that is rapidly expanding, and we expect he will hit the ground running and immediately add value for clients.”
