Kirkland & Ellis has signed a lease in Miami for six floors of office space at 830 Brickwell, an office development that has also attracted Citadel, Microsoft Corp. and Thoma Bravo, Bloomberg News reported.

Many finance, law and technology firms have relocated or expanded to the sunbelt Miami area in the past two years, drawn to the business-friendly environment, warmer weather and talent pool. Earlier this year, Citadel announced the relocation of its headquarters to Miami from Chicago, and investment firm Pretium Partners also revealed plans to open an office in Miami beach. Legal, accounting and communications companies have also been seeking space in the region to expand their client base, as law firms Sidley Austin and Winston & Strawn have also signed leases in the 830 Brickwell office development.

Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlords in this deal. Newmark Group and CBRE Group Inc. represented the tenant.
