JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in software companies, has promoted Randy Guttman to general partner, chief operating officer, from his previous role of general partner. As chief operating officer, Guttman will continue to oversee JMI’s firm operations and advise on strategic initiatives and investments. Additionally, JMI has promoted Jeremy Curley to senior director. In his new role, Curley will continue to help JMI portfolio companies identify and implement strategic and operational initiatives.

“Since Randy joined the firm nearly 15 years ago, his contributions to JMI’s finance, accounting and operations and his passion for our investment strategy and process have been important drivers of JMI’s success,” said Harry Gruner, founder and managing general partner at JMI. “He has played a critical role in making JMI a leader in the growth equity space and we want to take this opportunity to thank him for his contributions. His promotion is well-deserved and we look forward to benefitting from his continued leadership at JMI.”

“Jeremy is a valued teammate and a strong contributor in our operational excellence group,” added Peter Arrowsmith, managing general partner at JMI. “He was instrumental in the recent sale of Arena and consistently adds value to all of the engagements on which he collaborates with his colleagues and JMI’s portfolio company management teams. I’d like to extend my congratulations to both Jeremy and Randy for their achievements.”
