Hunter Point Capital, an independent investment firm focused on minority stakes in middle-market alternative asset managers, has hired Melvin Hibberd as managing director to oversee the firm’s investment team.
Hibberd will be tasked with leading HPC’s investment processes and transaction executions. Prior to joining the firm, Hibberd served as a managing director at The Blackstone Group where he was a member of the investment committee in its GP Stakes Business. Additionally, Hibberd has served as an associate at Goldman Sachs and KKR & Co.
“Melvin’s appointment is the latest in a series of key strategic hires for the firm following a period of rapid growth since we launched Hunter Point Capital last year,” said Avi Kalichstein, CEO of Hunter Point Capital.
