Holcim, a Swiss-based global building materials company and a division of the Holcim Group, has bought Duro-Last, a manufacturer of thermoplastic single-ply roofing systems, with pro forma net sales of $540 million.

Based in Saginaw, Mich., Duro-Last boasts premium brands, proprietary technologies and custom-made services. This transaction is valued at approximately $1.293 million, representing a 2023 Ebitda multiple of 11.9x or 7.4x after synergies. With this deal, Holcim roofing systems will exceed $4 billion in net sales ahead of schedule. Duro-Last’s products look to complement and strengthen Holcim’s roofer capabilities, with expected synergies of $60 million per year.

“Duro-Last is a perfect strategic fit for our roofing business,” says Jan Jenisch, Holcim CEO. “Its proprietary technologies and premium brands complement our offering in the stable and fast-growing North American market. Its energy-efficient systems and excellence in recycling will further advance our leadership in sustainability.”
