Godspeed Capital, a private equity firm that specializes in defense and government services and technology, has invested in Huckabee & Associates Inc., an educational architecture, engineering, and consulting firm based in Texas. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Huckabee has developed their own education software tools including LEx Collaborative in partnership with Baylor University. Godspeed Capital plans to establish Huckabee as the platform brand for its new architecture, engineering, and consulting services in U.S markets. The investment illustrates Godspeed’s government-focused investment strategy. The two firms plan to increase their involvement in government entities. Huckabee’s management team will continue to lead the company fully intact and will keep a significant equity position.

Chris Huckabee said, “We are proud to partner with Godspeed Capital, whose deep industry experience and knowledge across the broader education and government related architecture and engineering markets will provide a powerful complement to help the Huckabee platform expand both within and beyond the education design and engineering services market in Texas.”

Huckabee was advised by AEC Advisors LLC and Lawson & Weitzen LLP acted as legal advisor. Latham & Watkins LLP acted as legal advisor to Godspeed Capital.
