Marcone, a distributor of home appliance, HVAC and plumbing repair parts and equipment in North America and a portfolio company of Genstar Capital has bought Great Plains Pool & Spa Products, a pool and spa equipment and parts company serving the midwest and Gulf Coast regions.
Great Plains Pool & Spa Products’ branches are located in Kansas City (Great Plains Supply) and Houston (Pool & Spa Products). Steve Reiff founded GPS in 1984, and began a partnership with Jay Patterson, founder of Pool & Spa Products, in 1992. The new Great Plains Pool & Spa Products deal represents Marcone’s entry into the pool and spa distribution space. Marcone looks to pursue continued merger and acquisition opportunities.
