Genovac, a contract research organization that manufactures antibodies has acquired Carterra’s LSA platform for its discovery services. Genovac is based in Freiburg, Germany and provides discovery services to life science researchers.

Carterra is a firm that provides technologies used in the discovery process for therapeutic treatments. The firm’s trademarked LSA software uses Surface Plasmon Resonance (HT-SPR) technology and has quickly become the standard in 16 of the 20 largest pharmaceutical companies, CROS, government labs, and biotechs. In December 2020, Carterra received financing from PerkinElmer, who is not the exclusive distributor of the LSA platform in the Asia-Pacific and Oceania regions. Carterra’s LSA software has improved on the traditional method of antibody discovery by generating results 100 times faster with 99 percent less sample.

Tim Germann, chief commercial officer at Carterra said, “To have 100 instruments deployed across the globe in such a short time is striking, especially during the pandemic. We’re particularly pleased that Genovac has received the 100th LSA platform. Like Carterra, Genovac is completely committed to serving their clients with the most advanced technologies and services in biologics discovery.”
