EW Healthcare Partners, a private healthcare investment firm, has bought Germfree Laboratories Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of mobile and modular cleanrooms and bio-containment facilities.
Founded in 1962, Germfree provides services for healthcare and life science clients. Germfree has over 200 facilities across six continents with approximately 200 employees located at its manufacturing plant in Ormond Beach, Fla. The company’s mobile and modular services serve the biopharma, compounding pharmacy and bio-containment healthcare categories.
“There is an increasing demand for mobile and modular cleanrooms in biopharma to keep pace with new technologies and platforms, capacity constraints and the demand for flexible solutions that are delivered quickly,” comments Evis Hursever, managing director at EW Healthcare Partners. “Germfree is addressing this demand for cleanrooms by designing and manufacturing advanced solutions for specialised and flexible cGMP-compliant manufacturing space.
