Cozen O’Connor has hired Aselle Kurmanova as a member of the healthcare practice in New York. In her new position, she will draw upon her experience in the corporate mergers and acquisitions space, where she has served as an adviser to companies on corporate strategies, tax law, and regulatory matters. Kurmanova joins the firm from Seyfarth Shaw LLP, reuniting with John Shire, who joined the firm in November.

“Aselle brings a tremendous depth of corporate transactions knowledge in the health care space, and I am happy she decided to join the Cozen O’Connor team,” said Shire, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s healthcare practice. “Our clients will greatly benefit from her experience in the mergers and acquisitions space given what we will assume to be a very active transactional corporate environment, particularly as it pertains to the continued effects from the pandemic.”

“The health care sector will continue to remain in the spotlight with the new administration creating significant regulatory change. Having someone who is a trusted adviser to her clients, with the depth of transactional knowledge she brings to Cozen O’Connor, is truly exciting, and we look forward to welcoming Aselle,” stated R. Christopher Raphaely, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s healthcare practice.

“I look forward to rejoining John and being a part of a proactive team that is focused on policy initiatives and how they may benefit Cozen O’Connor clients,” Kurmanova commented. “Being able to draw on the expansive resources Cozen O’Connor offers, I can help our clients evaluate the most efficient and effective strategies to grow and protect their businesses in what will continue to be a rapidly evolving climate.”
