Enscape, a developer of real-time rendering and design workflow technology for the architecture, engineering and construction and industries, and Chaos, a provider of photorealistic rendering technology, have entered an agreement to merge. TA Associates and LEA Partners have agreed on the merger.

The deal will establish the firms as players in the 3D visualization and design workflow software sectors. Enscape offers services that connect directly into modeling software for the AEC industry and integrates design and visualization workflows seamlessly. Chaos is a provider of visualization and simulation software. The firm’s rendering services, V-Ray, is a visualization tool across multiple industries.

Going forward, the combined company will operate as Chaos and intends on developing and strengthening its product portfolio to create an end-to-end visualization ecosystem. TA will join LEA, Enscape’s current majority shareholder, in the newly combined company.

“We have been impressed by the growth, high-quality product offerings and loyal customer base of both Chaos and Enscape,” said Stefan Dandl, principal at TA. “Together, we believe the company can build on its strong momentum to create a global leader in the 3D visualization and design workflowspace. In partnership with LEA, we are excited to invest in the company’s future by deepening product capabilities and growing the breadth of offerings and geography.”
