Benford Capital Partners, a lower middle-market private equity firm based out of Chicago, has closed its second investment fund Benford Capital Partners II.

The fund closed with total commitments of $200 million and like its predecessor fund, exceeded the target size. The fund will concentrate on buying and building firms with $5-100 million in annual revenue. Benford has acquired 36 companies and grown its investment and operating team to include 13 professionals since 2004.

“We are extremely pleased that nearly every BCP I investor committed to BCP II,” said Edward Benford, managing director. “We are grateful for their support and look forward to executing the same operationally focused investment strategy to successfully scale lower middle market platforms.”
