Allied Motion Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: AMOT), a designer and manufacturer of precision and controlled motion products and services, has acquired Spectrum Controls, Inc., a manufacturer of industrial I/O and universal communications gateway product, for $70 million.

Spectrum designs and manufactures a range of I/O modules, marquee displays and industrial gateways for broad industrial controls applications through partnerships with PLC manufacturers and distributors. The firm has 72 employees and does business throughout the world.
