Steve Kopelic is the Global Banking Industry Business Development Executive for the IBM Cognitive Solutions Team.� He is a Financial Services industry veteran, with 34 years of experience in the Banking Industry, and 17 years with IBM.�As the Business Development Executive, Steve works with our Banking and Wealth Management customers to provide them with industry-focused business solutions across the spectrum of analytics and cognitive computing, as Banks digitize their businesses, with an emphasis on solutions that will enable cognitive transformation for the Banking industry.� This includes solutions for Customer Insight/Customer Experience, Risk & Compliance, Sales and Marketing Optimization, Payments and Financial Transaction Management, Consumer/Commercial Payments and AML/Counter Fraud Management/Financial Crimes.Prior to his current role, Steve served as the Global Banking Industry Leader for IBM Analytics Consultative Sales (2015), the Worldwide Banking Industry Leader for IBM Software Group (2013-14), Banking and Financial Markets Leader on the Smarter Commerce Software team for IBM North America (2012-13) and as the Business Unit Executive for Banking & Financial Markets on the North America Financial Services Sector Software Industry Team (2005-11).� Steve originally joined IBM as an Associate Partner for GBS Americas, covering Financial Services solutions including Corebanking and Customer Care & Insight (1999-2004).Steve has deep experience in Retail Banking, Card Services, Central Banking, Credit Unions, Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Investment Banking and Financial Markets.� He is currently working on developing Cognitive Solutions for Banking, leveraging IBM Watson. Steve is a member of the Banking & Financial Markets Industry Solutions Board, and participated in the development of the Banking Industry Framework Customer Care & Insight (CC&I) Domain.� Steve has also participated on the Industry Models Customer Advisory Board as an IBM representative. Steve is Six Sigma certified.Steve’s experience includes selling software solutions and consulting services to FSS senior executives, and delivering engagements involving management consulting, custom software development, modification of IBM middleware and third party application software to meet customer’s requirements, as well as development of IBM strategy inputs to enable our customer’s business strategies.Steve regularly meets with customers and speaks at Banking events and IBM conferences in Europe, China, Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, Africa, North America and South America, on a wide range of topics including the Cognitive Solutions for Banking and Financial Markets, the Banking Industry Framework, IBM’s Industry Models for Banking, and the Customer Insight solution.Prior to joining IBM, Steve served in technical and management positions at Mellon Bank (now Citizens Bank) and First Union (now Wells Fargo).� He was a Senior Manager in the Management Consulting practice of Ernst & Young LLP, and was the Director of the Charlotte office for MCI Systemhouse.Steve earned his BS degree in Business Administration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.�
