Kate Moore is a Global Equity Strategist at BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research. Before joining BofA Merrill Lynch, Moore was an Emerging Markets Strategist at Moore Capital Management, a macro hedge fund in New York. Before joining Moore Capital in 2007, Moore was a member of the Investment Strategy and Economics team at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Prior to graduate school, Moore was a consultant for leveraged\r\nbuyout portfolios.\r\nMoore is known for her analysis in identifying top-down investment themes with a special\r\nfocus on resource sectors and financials within emerging markets; she has a profound knowledge of China and Russia and deep understanding of Brazil, Korea and South Africa. Her particular areas of focus include energy, infrastructure, agriculture, shipping, metals & mining and banks. Her work at Moore Capital also included analysis of economic issues in both developed and emerging markets with a special focus on identifying holes in consensus models and forecasts. \r\nMoores thesis at graduate school focused on China and Guanxi Networks as an alternative to\r\nthe Embedded Autonomy Model.\r\nMoore earned a B.A. from the University of Virginia in Political and Social Thought and a M.A. from the University of Chicago in Political Economy.
