Yara Scoops Up Brazilian Fertilizer Business for $750M

The Norwegian agricultural firm taps into emerging market with acquisition of Bunge unit

Yara International ASA will acquire Bunge Ltd.’s (NYSE: BG) Brazilian fertilizer business for $750 million in cash.

The deal includes blending facilities brands and warehouses. Bunge will retain its fertilizer terminal in the Port of Santos, Brazil.

Yara, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is a fertilizer supplier.

The deal is subject to Brazilian regulatory approvals.

Credit Suisse acted as Bunge’s financial adviser, while Souza Cescon Barrieu & Flesch Advogdos and Sherman & Sterling LLP acted as legal counsels.
