Viggle Picks Up GetGlue for $25M

New York-based GetGlue is a social media firm that allows users to check-in and socialize while watching television

Viggle Inc. (PINK: VGGL), a company that offers customers a loyalty program in which they can earn and redeem points for watching television, is buying mobile application service GetGlue for $25 million in cash.

The offer also includes 48.3 million shares of stock.

New York-based GetGlue, founded in 2007, is a social media firm that allows users to check-in and socialize while watching television. The company also offers a mobile-guide that lists both TV and online content on a digital calendar.

Viggle, launched in January 2012, currently has about 1.2 million registered users.
