NPC International Inc | Olympus Partners
Olympus Partners acquired NPC International Inc, an Overland Park-based owner and operator of restaurant franchises, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Capital Partners, a unit of Bank of America Corp's Merrill Lynch & Co Inc subsidiary, in a leverage buyout transaction. Originally, in September 2011, an investor group comprised of two undisclosed private equity firms was rumored to be in negotiations to buy a minority stake in NPC. Terms were not disclosed but, according to sources, the deal was valued at an estimated $800 million.

Birch Communications, a unit of KKR & Co LPs Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co LP subsidiary, definitively agreed to acquire the operating assets of Astrotel Communications Corp, a Cerritos-based wholesales security and surveillance systems and devices.
Avery Dennison | 3M Co
3M Co definitively agreed to acquire the office and consumer products business of Avery Dennison Corp, a Pasadena-based manufacturer and wholesaler of labeling materials, for $550 million in cash.

PennWell Corp acquired Broadband Technology Report, a provider of online report publishing services, from Hermes Media & Research LLC. The transaction was to include Diamond Technology Review.Terms were not disclosed.

Devon Energy Corp-Assets | Sinopec Intl
Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration & Production Corp of China, a unit of Chinese state-owned China Petrochemical Corp., agreed to acquire a 33.33 percent stake in 5 shale oil and gas assets of Devon Energy Corp, an Oklahoma-based oil and gas exploration and production company, for $ 2.2 billion in cash, in a privately negotiated transaction.
Dynasty International Inc | Unique Logistics International
Unique Logistics International of Hong Kong acquired the remaining undisclosed majority interest, which it did not already own, in Dynasty International Inc, a Boston-based provider of inter-modal transportation systems services. The purpose of the transaction was for Unique Logistics International to expand its North American footprint.

E Touch Holding Co acquired European Touch Holding Inc, a Milwaukee- based manufacturer of whirlpool pedicure spa, from American Capital Ltd.
Fortigent LLC | LPL Financial LLC

ReCommunity acquired Hudson Baylor Corp, a Newburgh-based provider of recycling services. The transaction included 12 facilities in the Northeast and Southwest, and two additional facilities opening in 2012.
