Shutterfly Snaps Up ThisLife

ThisLIfe is a photo storing service that has facial recognition and timeline features

Shutterfly Inc. (Nasdaq: SFLY) acquired ThisLife, a cloud-based photo and video service.

ThisLife’s services allow users to organize, store and share photos and videos. The target has facial recognition and timeline features. Shutterfly plans to add ThisLife’s technology onto its own platform.

In September, Shutterfly bought Penguin Digital Inc., a company that develops mobile applications, which allow users to create physical prints and photo-based merchandise. 

Shutterfly was founded in 1999 and provides products that allow customers to upload their digital photos.
