SFX Entertainment Buys Beatport for $50M

Beatport provides dance music downloads, mixes and DJ performances

SFX Entertainment Inc. is buying Beatport, an online company that provides dance music downloads, mixes, live DJ performances and news.

The website, based out of Denver, has about 40 million unique users per year. The price tag was reportedly around $50 million.

SFX is an electronic dance music platform that operates live events, festivals and night clubs in North America. Its brands include Disco Donnie Presents, Life in Color and more. Media executive Robert Sillerman created the company in 2012.
