Riverside Grabs Operating Tax Systems

OTS will be added to Disa, a company that provides employee screening services

Private equity firm the Riverside Co. has acquired Operating Tax Systems LLC (OTS), a provider of vehicle compliance services.

Stow, Ohio-based OTS’ services include fuel-tax reporting, driver log auditing, licensing, permitting and fuel-tax recovery. The company’s clients include commercial-grade trucking companies and operators of privately-owned fleets.

Riverside will fold OTS into Disa Inc., a Houston-based company that provides employee screening and other safety-related services.

“The two companies provide many complementary services, and we see a lot of cross-selling potential that will make things easier and more effective for customers,” says Disa chief financial officer Lance Hack. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Riverside focuses on buying businesses valued at up to $200 million. Its portfolio includes stroller maker Baby Jogger Co., publishing service Digital Technology International Inc. and software company YourMembership.com Inc..
