Huntsman Gay Global Capital brings in new managing partner; Capital One Bank, Principal Global Investors and UHY Advisors each announce new promotions

Capital One Bank — Michael Rogers has been appointed senior vice president, commercial real estate. Rogers will be responsible for managing client relationships with both existing and potential customers throughout the New York tri-state area. Prior to joining Capital One, Rogers was a senior director at PB Capital in New York, where he spent the last nine years. Rogers also served as a real estate securitization analyst at CIBC World Markets.


Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLPChristian Moretti (pictured) has joined the law firm as a partner and co-chair of its European cross-border practice. A Venice-native, Moretti was previously at Baltimore-based law firm Venable LLP. Before that he was with Greenberg Traurig LLP.


Fox Rothschild LLP — The law firm has hired William Mark Levinson as a partner and co-chair of the Financial Services Industry Practice Group.


Getzler Henrich & Associates LLC — The restructuring firm named Bert Weil managing director. He will be based in the New York headquarters. Prior to joining Getzler Henrich, Weil—who has more than 20-years of experience advising businesses—worked at Holmes Protection Group. Before that, he managed the corporate foreign exchange and derivatives desk for ABN Bank, now ABN-AMRO, in New York. He also various leadership positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Citibank, AIG and Ernst & Young.


Huntsman Gay Global Capital — The middle-market private equity firm brought in Jim Learner (pictured) as a managing partner, after he spent roughly 25 years at law firm Kirkland & Ellis. Learner has represented private equity funds in more than 200 transactions. He was most recently in charge of the firm's European operations, working from London on U.S. In addition to hiring Learner, Huntsman Gay also promoted three senior vice presidents to principal. They include Jacob Hodgman and Hudson Smith, who are both based in the firm’s Palo Alto, Calif. office, as well as Neil White in the firm’s West Palm Beach, Fla. office. Hodgman has been with the firm since its inception in 2007 and sits on the boards of directors of portfolio companies Innovative Interfaces and Hollander. Prior to joining Huntsman Gay, Hodgman worked at Sorenson Capital and as a senior analyst at Citigroup. Smith and White each came to Huntsman Gay in 2009. Smith was previously a manager at the Dallas and Sydney, Australia offices of Bain & Co. Before that, he served as an investment banking analyst and associate at Lincoln International. White currently serves on the board of directors of iQor and Gee Holdings. Before joining Huntsman Gay, he was at Och-Ziff Capital Management and at Bain Capital.


Principal Global Investors — The firm named Mihail Dobrinov head of the emerging market equities team. He will be responsible for the management of $9.3 billion in assets, including portfolio management of the $1.62 billion Principal International Emerging Markets fund. Dobrinov joined Principal Global Investors in 1995 as an international and emerging market debt and currency specialist. He joined the equities team in 2002 and has served as a portfolio manager for emerging markets equities since 2007. He replaces Michael Reynal, who has left Principal Global Investors.


Riveron Consulting — Brian Vargo has joined the consulting firm's Chicago office as a client-serving director. Vargo joins Dallas-based Riveron from Daniels Sharpsmart Inc., where he was the U.S. finance director. Prior to Daniels, he held a number of titles within several firms, including Torex Retail Holdings, Primis Marketing Group and Allscripts Healthcare Solutions.


Rosen Partners — Daniel Rubin arrived at the New York-based real estate investment firm as a managing director. He was previously senior vice president at CW Capital. Rubin has also held positions at Lehman Brothers and JEN Partners LLC, a private equity firm specializing in real estate.


UHY Advisors NY — The northeast operating division of UHY Advisors Inc., a tax and business consulting firm, named Michael Mahoney (pictured) CEO on Nov. 1. Mahoney was most recently managing director of the unit's New York City office. He replaces Richard Kotlow, who announced his retirement as CEO on Nov. 13. Kotlow, who has been with the firm since 1972, will stay on a consultant. He will also remain chairman of UHY Advisors NY's China subsidiary.
