Ontario Teachers Buys Outdoor Sports Storage Co., Plano Molding

The target makes tackle boxes, bait storage and gun cases

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan will acquire Plano Molding Co. Inc., which supplies outdoor sports storage systems.

Plano Molding, headquartered in Plano, Ill., makes tackle boxes, bait storage, gun cases, archery cases and ice fishing products. It also makes cosmetic, tool and storage containers, as well as shelving.

Ontario Teachers is making the deal through its private equity investment division, Teachers’ Private Capital. The PE arm manages a $12 billion portfolio. Terms were not disclosed.

The pension plan invests its assets and administers pension for 300,000 active and retired teachers in Ontario.
