Madison Dearborn Buys Sage Products

The target makes disposable healthcare products

Private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners LLC will acquire Sage Products Inc., which makes healthcare products, for an undisclosed price.

Sage’s healthcare products focus on preventing infections. The company manufactures disposable oral hygiene, rinse-free basinless bathing and one-step preoperative skin-preparation products.

Madison Dearborn is a Chicago private equity firm that has raised six funds with more than $18 billion in capital. The company has completed about 120 investments. The firm’s portfolio companies include MetroPCS Communications Inc. (NYSE: PCS), Nuveen Investments and Yankee Candle Co.
