Icon Acquires Cross Country Healthcare Division for $52M

The clinical-trial services division includes ClinForce, Assent Consulting and Akos

Icon plc (Nasdaq: ICLN) will acquire the clinical-trial services division of Cross Country Healthcare Inc. (Nasdaq: CCRN) for $52 million.

The clinical-trial services division includes ClinForce and Assent Consulting, which provide contract staffing, permanent placement and other services. The division also includes Akos, a provider of drug-safety services.

Icon may pay an additional $3.75 million depending on the performance of the division.

Dublin-based Icon provides outsourcing services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

Cross Country, headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla., is a healthcare staffing company.
